Jerry N. Woodard, age 67, of Norwalk, passed away Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
He was born Jan. 4, 1945, in Vernon, Texas, the son of O’Neal and M. Ruth Woodard.
Jerry worked for GE at the Bellevue Lamp Plant until its closing, and then retired from Ball Plastics, Bellevue, in 2007. He married his wife Nancy (Williams) Woodard May 4, 1974, in Bellevue. She survives in Norwalk.
Jerry was a member of Eagles Aerie 490, VFW Post 1238, and various other clubs through his life. He enjoyed going to casinos and woodworking. He loved social gatherings and being around people. Jerry was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Kevin (Donna) Sears of Fountain Inn, S.C., Connie (Kit) Nelson of Bellevue, Martin (Jody) Woodard of Bellevue, Jay Woodard of Las Vegas, Nev., Tory (Jackie) Woodard of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Lynda Folsom of Stamford, Conn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Marcy; son, Stephen; and grandson, Tristan “TJ” Woodard.
Friends will be received at 3 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Funeral services will follow at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at Sandhill Cemetery.
