Emily “Louise” (Baxley) Jones, 74, of Sandusky, departed this life following a lengthy illness on Friday morning, Dec 21, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center.
She was born on April 1, 1938, in Augusta, Ga., to Robert and Viola (Milton) Baxley. Louise was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and spending time with her family.
Louise is survived by her husband of 57 years, Earnest Jones; daughters, Gloria Jones and Vickie Ritchie, both of Sandusky; sons, Earnest (Jeanne) Jones, Ricky Jones, Kennedy Michael Jones, and Jermaine (Yvonne) Jones, all of Sandusky, and Tony Jones, of New Washington, Ohio; many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; and her close friends, Wanda Jones and Earmia Philon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Jones; brothers, Samuel, Sherman, and Edward Baxley, as well as John Henry Tate and Robert Marshall; and sisters, Mary (Baxley) Gant and Eleanor (Baxley) Redding.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be noon Friday, Dec. 28, at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1920 Eddy Henry Way, Sandusky. Rev. Curtis L. Johnson, Jr. will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
