Jeanetta “Jean” J. Crage, 87, of Huron, and formerly of Buffalo, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday evening, Dec. 18, 2012, at Admiral's Pointe Nursing Center, Huron.
Jean was born April 24, 1925, in Buffalo. She was married Oct. 7, 1947, to Peter P. Crage, also of Buffalo.
Jean was a talented artist who worked for several photographers in Buffalo before working at Sears in Niagara Falls, N,Y., and Sandusky. She was a member of the North Tonawanda, N.Y., Friends of the Library Group. She was a generous woman who loved reading, ironing, sewing and spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Judith (Robert) Emery, of The Villages, Fla., and Katharine Crage, of Portland, Ore.; son, Peter J. (Teresa) Crage, of Charlotte, N.C.; and grandchildren, Colbie Crage, Julie (Daniel) Stoner, Elizabeth Crage, and Emily Crage.
At Jean’s request, there will be no visitation and cremation will take place at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Interment will take place at the United German and French Roman Catholic Cemetery in Cheektowaga, N.Y. A memorial service will take place later.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jean’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 8th Ave., 7th floor, New York, N.Y. 10001, or to Friends of The North Tonawanda Public Library, 505 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda, N.Y. 14120.
