Hilda Mae Collins, 82, of Port Clinton, OH died Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Aug. 19, 1930, in Union County, Tenn., daughter of the late L.H. and Hattie (Walker) Keck.
On Nov. 22, 1947, she married Robert “Pat” Collins.
Hilda was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church, Sandusky. She did a lot of volunteer work, could make a sewing machine sing, and was a great cook. She had a “special” bond with her grandchildren, helping to raise them all.
Survivors include her husband, Pat, of Port Clinton; children, Brenda (Herb) Stewart, of Port Clinton, and Jerry (Darlene) Collins, of Oak Harbor; grandchildren, Sherri Bacak, Susan (Dave) Behrens, Matt (Kim) Collins and Ray Collins; great- grandchildren, Alicia, Stephen, Caitlin, Robbie, Ryan and Taylor; and brother, Bob Keck, of Cross Plains, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Foister, Ed, Paris, Dave, Jim and Lee Keck; and sisters, Pheonie Rouse and Bertha Cole. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, Port Clinton Chapel, where funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, where the family will receive friends an hour prior to services. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
