Juliann D. “Utch” Branum, 81, of Port Clinton, died Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, in Toledo Hospital.
She was born Feb. 15, 1931, in Port Clinton, daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Lukac. On Sept. 5, 1953, she married Ralph Branum and he survives.
During her working career she worked as a payroll clerk for U.S. Gypsum.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Port Clinton and its Altar Rosary Society, and also a member of Magruder Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to cook and was an avid baker, known to many for her delicious “spicecake” and halupki. Her hobbies included bowling as she was a member of the Tuesday Night Ladies League. She also played softball. But what she enjoyed the most was attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Survivors include her husband, Ralph; children, Judy (Rick) Johannsen, of Port Clinton, David (Tricia) Branum, of New Windsor, Md., Jane Mallernee, of Oak Harbor, and Don (Sheri) Branum, of Milan; grandchildren, Ashley (Joe) Walker, Derick Johannsen, Mollie Branum, Mike, Brian, and Joey Mallernee and Justin and Coley Branum; brother, Paul (Joan) Lukac; sister-in-law, Joan Lukac; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joseph Lukac.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16, at Neidecker, LeVeck & Crosser Funeral Home, 1124 Fulton St., Port Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 414 Madison St., Port Clinton. The Rev. John C. Missler will officiate. Burial will take place at a later date.
