Dorothy Irene “Cookie” (Carr) Uther, 76, residing in Norwalk, passed away late Monday evening, Dec. 3, 2012, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Dorothy was born Aug. 13, 1936, in West Lafayette, Ohio, daughter of the late Howard A. and Mary L. (Miller) Carr.
Dorothy was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Milan, and a member of the Huron County Farm Bureau. In her spare time, she loved spending time with her family.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, George P. Uther, whom she married Jan. 18, 1959; her son, Henry (Beverly Thorne) Uther, of Lancaster, Ohio; two daughters, Susan (Wayne) Holbrook, of Haymarket, Va., and Mary (Russell) Feezer, of Orlando, Fla.; three grandchildren, Samantha, Conrad and Hunter Holbrook; two sisters, Mary Breslin, of Columbus, Ga., Joyce Woodburn, of Potomac, Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Including her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her three sisters, Helen Ballog, Wilma Miller and Harriet Swinger; three brothers, John, Robert and Richard Carr; and her daughter-in-law, Diana Uther.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1 S. Main St., Milan, and from 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, until a funeral service at 10 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 17 E. Church St., Milan. Pastor Don Loving will officiate. Burial will follow at Milan Cemetery.
