Minnie A. (Lombardo) Montgomery, 93 residing in Sandusky, passed away early Saturday morning, Nov. 24, 2012, in Parkvue Health Care Center of natural causes.
Minnie was born in Sandusky on Jan. 23, 1919, to Joseph and Rose (Colla) Lombardo
She was a 1938 graduate of Sandusky High School and worked at the Philco and Apex Companies in Sandusky before retiring from the New Departure Hyatt Plant in 1982, following 30 years of service. Minnie was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Daughters of Isabella, the UAW Local 913, and a lifetime member of the IAB Ladies Auxiliary.
Minnie enjoyed traveling, playing cards, her Bible studies and spending time with her family and friends. Minnie was a loving, dedicated, caring mother and grandmother.
Minnie is survived by a daughter, Linda (Tony) Kowalski of Sandusky; two sons, Harry (Cindy) Montgomery, and Edward (Barb) Montgomery both of Sandusky; 14 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Including her parents, Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Montgomery in 1982; three sisters, Susie Palmison, Catherine Bennice and Mary Levine; and two brothers, Orlando, and Frank Lombardo.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, in the funeral home followed by a 10 a.m. mass of Christian burial at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Eric Mueller will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
