Douglas G. Brant Jr., 63, of Monroeville, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, in his home.

He was born Dec. 4, 1948, in Sandusky, son of the late Douglas G. and Dolores M. (France) Brant Sr. and was a lifelong area resident. Doug was a former employee of the Union Chain Company, Sandusky, Argo-General Company, of Norwalk, Len Hartwig Construction Company, Norwalk.  

He enjoyed fishing and yard work.

Doug is survived by his wife of 38 years, Lynette A. (Hersha) Brant, of Monroeville; his children, Tracy and her husband James Armstrong Sr. of Sandusky, Douglas G. Brant III, of Vickery, Raymond R. Brant, of Willard, Brian K. Brant, of Sandusky, Timothy A. Brant, of Sandusky, Melissa S. Brant, of Monroeville, and Tabitha L. Brant, of Monroeville; 25 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings, Larry A. (Denise) Brant, of Norwalk, Linda (Robert) Sanders, of Portsmouth, Ohio, Daniel T. (Rachel) Brant, of Portsmouth, James D. (Sharon) Brant, of Norwalk, Alvin E. (Katherine) Brant, of Willard, Robert D. (Katherine) Brant, of Johnson City, Tenn., Kenneth Eckelberry, of Portsmouth, Ruby (Randy) McCauley, of Sandusky, April Brant, of Sandusky, Steven (Julie) Brant, of Sandusky, Walter Brant, of Sandusky, Laura (Terry) Martin, of Sandusky, Shannon York, of Sandusky, and Johnathan York, of Sandusky; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his son, Michael Brant; his daughter, Michelle Brant; his brother, Phillip York; his brother-in-law, Terry Fulton; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, until services at 8 p.m. at Mount Harvest Church of God, 150 Ohio 113 W., Milan. The Rev. Kenneth Conley will officiate. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 23, at Riverside Cemetery, Berlin Heights.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Brant Family.
