David D. Gibbs, 53, of Castalia, died unexpectedly Monday evening, Nov. 12, 2012, at his residence.
He was born June 8, 1959, in Sandusky and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1977. He worked for General Motor for 30 years as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2006.
David enjoyed building and racing cars and building model gas engines. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, whom he married in 1979, Theresa (Pfanner) Gibbs; daughter, Stephanie (Keith) Killingsworth; son, Brian (Heather Lenhart) Gibbs; grandchildren, Ian Killingsworth and Kylie Gibbs; stepgrandson, Cohen Binette; mother, Mary (Grantham) Gibbs; two brothers, William and Bruce Gibbs; mother in-law, Betty Pfanner; brother in-law, Timothy Pfanner; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father, William Gibbs.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no services. The Gibbs family would like to invite friends and family to an open house 1 -4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Theresa’s house, 6806 Kilroy Road, Castalia.
Ransom Funeral Home, Castalia, was in charge of arrangements.
