John P. Wolf Jr., 88, Sandusky, died on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, in the Stein Hospice Care Center, after a brief illness.
He was born on Dec. 30, 1923, in Sandusky, and was a veteran of the U.S. Marines, serving during World War II. John retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Sandusky, after 42 years.
He is survived by his sons, Craig (Michelle) Wolf, Petersburg, Mich., and Robby (Karen) Wolf, Sandusky; daughters, Jackie Handy, Huron, Geraldine Lantz, Spring Hill, Tenn., Loralen (Gary) Himes, Bremerton, Wash., and June (Terry) Bechstein, Huron; brother, Robert (Jean) Wolf, Sandusky; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (Stookey) Wolf in 2007; parents, John and Amelia (Hiendorf) Wolf Sr.; sons, John Wolf, III, in 2009, and Jeffrey Wolf, in infancy.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Marine Corps Forever Honor and Color Guard will conduct military services at 7 p.m., followed by prayers at 7:30 p.m. with Deacon Jeff Claar.
