Loretta F. Barton, 102, of Elkhart, Ind., passed to the Lord peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2012, at her home.
She was born Sept. 23, 1910, in Sandusky, and was raised in Three Rivers, Mich., and graduated from Three Rivers High School.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Barton; four grandchildren, Melissa Barton, Cherie Barton, Troy Barton and Kelly Barton; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Barton Sr.; one son, Thomas Barton Jr.; her parents, Joseph and Anna (Lang) Dircks; 4 four brothers, Eugene, Earl, Fredarick and Lester Dircks; and two sisters, Margaret and Anna.
Loretta worked at Montgomery Ward Catalog Store and retired from Shaum Electric.
She was a strong women and a loving mother and grandmother. She gave her all to anyone she touched and will be missed terribly.
Visitation for family and friends will be 5-7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home. where funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13. Larry Rice, chaplain with the Center for Hospice Care will preside and burial will follow at Prairie Street Cemetery.
