Ronald D. Gochenour, 71, of Paulding, Ohio, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, in his Florida home.
He was born Sept. 18, 1941, in Sandusky, to Kenneth E. and Evelyn E. (Kriemes) Gochenour. On May 14, 1961, he married Phyllis (MacGeorge), who survives.
He was a retired postmaster for Cecil, Ohio, a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Paulding, and K of C St. Joseph Council 3584. He was a Paulding Reserve Sheriff Deputy; a member of the Paulding County Draft Board; Paulding VFW Post 587; Paulding Chamber of Commerce; and a Paulding Village Councilman. He was an avid golfer, woodworker and shuffleboard player.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, of Paulding; one daughter, Tamara M. (Mark) Heppeard, of Ohio City, Ohio; three sons, Kip K. (Jane) Gochenour, of Paulding; Jon D. (Tina) Gochenour, of Cecil, Ohio, and Joseph R. (Amy) Gochenour, of Sunbury, Ohio; a sister, Karen E. Procnow, of Sandusky; one brother, Craig Gochenour, of Sandusky; six grandchildren, Kellen (Tricia) Koenn, Tiffany (Scott) Pease, Ian Gochenour, Abby Gochenour, Josie Gochenour and Ellie Gochenour; and great-grandchildren, Blayne Pease, Brody Pease and Willow Koenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard Gochenour and Gary Gochenour.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. today, with a K of C service at 8 p.m. at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, and one hour prior to services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at Divine Mercy Catholic Parish, Paulding. The Rev. G. Allan Fillman will officiate. Burial will follow in Paulding Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Masses; Palmetto, FL Fire Department; or Paulding County DD.
