Wilma E. Freeman, 81, moved on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, from Darrell and Chris Freeman’s home in Hendersonville, Tenn., to Heaven, at 7:02 a.m. Dementia may have taken her mind, but not her heart or soul. Wilma is now showing off her brand new body, and her mind is now clear!
Wilma was born on the 26th day of April, in the year of 1931, in Norton, Va. Her father and mother, Newton and Lillie Caudill, lived in Big Stone Gap, Va.
On August 9th, 1948, Wilma married the love of her life, Ralph E. Freeman, from Esserville, Va. They were married for 61 years until Ralph’s death in 2009. Wilma and Ralph lived in Sandusky where they were blessed with five children, Patricia “Trish,” Ralph Jr. (Eddie), David, Harrison (Darrell), and Christina “Christy”.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters. Wilma’s husband of 61 years, Ralph E. Freeman, on Aug. 30, 2009; daughter, Patricia Ann Leavelle, on June 10, 2010, and son, Ralph Edward, on Feb. 16, 2012; and daughter, Christina Annette on Sept. 24, 1980; grandson, Ralph Edward Jr. “Little Ed” on Sept. 24, 1972, and great-grandson, Jacob Joshua on Oct. 9, 2005.
Wilma is survived by her son, David G. Freeman, of Stuart Fla., son, Harrison D. Freeman, of Hendersonville. Wilma was blessed to have 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Sherrena, Michael, Jason, Joshua, and Christina, Misty, Portia, Gordon, and Harrison. There are 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
We will celebrate Wilma’s Life at noon, Nov. 10, at First Assembly of God, 403 Walton Ferry Road, Hendersonville. She will be laid to rest in Berlin Heights at Peaks Cemetery. Officiating will be Wilma’s pastor, the Rev. Carl R. Woodyard from her home church in Milan, Mount Harvest Church of God.
