Carl Lewis Lippert, 91, of Sandusky, passed away Monday afternoon, Nov. 5, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born March 27, 1921, in Castalia, son of the late Charles and Amanda (Dawes) Lippert. Carl served in the U.S. Army and defended his Country during WW II.
He enjoyed fishing, feeding the birds, and spending time with his family.
Carl is survived by his son, Linder (Mary) Lippert, of Fremont; daughter, Darlene (Jim) Brengartner, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Carl (Denise) Clonch, of Sandusky, Mary (Bert) Gaddis, of Columbus, Scott Lippert, of Tucson, Ariz., Brian (Lisa) Lippert, of Fremont, Lisa Brengartner, of Sandusky, Charles (Jessica) Brengartner, of Milan, and Sharon (Russ) Dickman, James (Kay) Brengartner and Steven (Shelly) Brengartner, all of Sandusky; 13 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildre; 13 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; his sister, Gerlie (Delores) Johnson, of Mansfield; numerous nieces; nephews; and special friend, Danny Barnhart.
Carl was preceded in death by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Lippert, whom passed in May of 2011; his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at Groff Funeral Home, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9. The Rev. Tony Robinson will officiate. Committal will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park.
