Donald C. Trueman, age 84, of Hamilton, Ohio, died Friday Nov. 2, 2012, at 2:15 p.m. in his residence.
He was born on Sept. 17, 1928, in Oberlin, Ohio, the son of Charles Cowling and Flossie Cordelia (Noftz) Trueman.
He was educated in Sandusky City Schools, graduating from Sandusky High School in 1946, and attended Miami University. Don served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On May 19, 1951, in Oxford, Ohio, he married Janice R. Sunderland.
He was employed at General Motors Fisher Body Plant and later was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service for 27 years. Don was a member of Lindenwald United Methodist Church, AMVETS 1983, VFW Post 1069, American Legion and the Izaak Walton League.
Don is survived by his wife Janice; his children, Donna Lee (Donald) Trueman-Bryant, T.K. Trueman, Keith Andrew (Colleen) Trueman, Theodore Randolph (LuAnn) Trueman and Stephen Sunderland (Debra) Trueman; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; sisters, Betty Jean Miller, Marlene Susan Werren and Bert Biechele; brothers, Fred Trueman and David Trueman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jeanette Renee Ferrell; and brother, Raymond Trueman.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 3950 Pleasant Ave. Hamilton. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home, with Pastor Val Waibel officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Memorial Gardens.
