Ernest “Mike” McCullough, 83, of Castalia, died Wednesday morning, Oct. 31, 2012, in Ohio Veterans Home, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 15, 1928, in Vickery. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for Apex and then Sandusky Steel & Supply as a crane operator, retiring in 1992.
He is survived by one daughter, Tamara (David) Trent, of Sandusky; three sons, James McCullough, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Timothy (Georgette) McCullough, of Sandusky, and Steven (Christine) McCullough, of Sandusky; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Sherman; and many nieces and nephews.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret McCullough, in 2007; daughter, Kimberly Mitchell, in 2009; parents, Harry McCullough and Jessie (Burr) Bailey; sisters, Ann Smith and Mary Prochnow; and brother, Jim McCullough.
At the request of the decedent, there will be no visitation. A private family service took place on Thursday, Nov. 1, in Castalia Cemetery.
Ransom Funeral Home, Castalia, was in charge of arrangements.
