Estrella Ramos Dearsman, 90, formerly of Sandusky, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, Oct. 30, 2012, in Valley Care Northside Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, with her family by her side.
Estrella was born April 1, 1922, in Las Marias, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Pedro and Kathlena Bargas Ramos. She had lived in Sandusky since 1952 before moving to Youngstown in 1991.
She was a homemaker, a professional seamstress, and also worked at the Erie County Senior Center, retiring in 1990.
Estrella enjoyed watching television, listening to the radio, and listening to country music. Most importantly, she enjoyed the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Estrella leaves her daughter, Minerva “Minnie” (Galen) Kolesar of Austintown, Ohio; four grandchildren, Paul Lewis, of Boardman, Ohio, John Lewis (Joe), of Cleveland, Sheila Sensback, of Austintown, and Whitney (Vince) Zmith, of Poland, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Kyle Sensback and Avery Zmith.
Estrella will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Her husband, three sisters, and a brother, preceded her in death.
Family and friends may call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Kinnick Funeral Home, 477 N. Meridian Road, Youngstown, where a funeral service will take place at 7 p.m.
Estrella was a breast cancer survivor, and her family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, through secure.info-komen.org.
