Dolores J, Mentullo, 80, of Huron passed away late Monday evening, May 10, 2010, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a lengthy illness.
Dolores was born in Mansfield, Ohio, Feb. 14, 1930, the oldest child of John and Hattie (Simpson) Potts and grew up in Sandusky. She graduated from Sandusky High School in 1948 and through the years helped organize many class reunions.
Dolores was a beautician for more than 40 years and owned Chateau Beauty Salon in Sandusky and later in Lancaster, N.Y., until 1990. Her hobbies included sewing, painting, crafts, reading, bowling and spending time with her family and friends. Dolores was a life-long member of Emanuel United Church of Christ and held positions of secretary, deacon and an elder of the church. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 83.
Dolores is survived by her daughter, Susan (Scott) Schneider of Huron; grandson, Bryan Vaughan; granddaughter, Kathryn Vaughan; two sisters, Marilyn Arnold of Crestline and Sharon (Tim) Ball of Sandusky; two brothers, Harold (Margaret) Potts of Minden, Nev., and Alan (Barbara) Potts of Shelby; two sisters-in-law, Mary Potts of Sandusky and Rachel (Ray) Braun of Webster, N.Y.; two brothers-in-law, Thomas Winters of Huron and Nick (Annette) Montulli of Rochester, N.Y.; and nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.
Preceding Dolores in death were her husband, Endro; parents, John and Hattie (Simpson) Potts; sister, Carol Winters; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Karl Potts, and Jack and Janice Potts; and brother-in-law, Joseph Arnold.
A memorial service honoring Dolores will be at 2 p.m., June 6, in Emanuel United Church of Christ, 334 Columbus Ave., Sandusky.
