Russell H. Brown, age 69, of Castalia, died Monday morning, Oct. 29, 2012, at Firelands Regional Medical Center, Sandusky, following a brief illness.
He was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Sandusky. He graduated from Margaretta High School in 1961. He owned Russ’ Barber Shop for 46 years, and was a barber for 50 years.
Russ was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Sandusky, and was on the church dart ball team. He loved to go fishing, boating, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by daughter, Robin (William Cole) Thrash of Norwalk; son, Troy (Missy) Brown of Castalia; special friend, Candy Beatty of Catawba Island; three grandchildren, Zachary Thrash, Gabriella and Mikayla Brown; and sister, May Swartz of Columbus.
Russ was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (Capucini) Brown in 2006; parents, Arlo and Myrtle (Heinzerling) Brown; and granddaughter, Allison Thrash.
Friends may call 2-9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and 10-11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Bardshar Rd., Sandusky, where funeral services will held at 11 a.m. The Rev. Philip Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
