Joanne M. Doughty, 73, of Norwalk, died early Saturday morning, Oct. 27, 2012, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
She was born Aug. 6, 1939, in Norwalk, to Willard W. and Helen M. (Schaefer) Earl and was a lifelong area resident.
Joanne was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Women of St. Paul. She was also a member of Eagles Aerie 711 Auxiliary and the St. Paul Boosters Club. Joanne was a former employee of Norb’s Marathon and Norwalk Monument Company. She enjoyed professional, college, and high school sports and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school and church activities.
Joanne is survived by her husband of 47 years, Richard G. Doughty of Norwalk; children, Brenda M. and Todd Careless of Norwalk, Mark A. and Linda Doughty of Norwalk, and Tracy L. and Michael Juby of Cleveland, Ohio; grandchildren, Bradley Doughty, Connor Careless, Jessica Doughty, Carson Careless, Emily Juby, Catherine Juby, Nathan Juby, and Abby Juby; sisters and brother-in-law, Marilyn Baker of Largo, Fla., Ruth Beach of Leesburg, Fla., and Carol and William Ommert of Norwalk.
Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 30, at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 91 E. Main St., Norwalk. Rev. Frank Kehres will officiate. Interment will be in St. Paul Cemetery.
