Kimberly J. Kane, 49, of Hanahan, S.C., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, after a determined and admirable fight against cancer.
Kim was born March 4, 1963, in Santa Monica, Calif., and was raised in Sandusky. She lived in South Carolina for the last seven years with her loving husband John. Kim and John were married Aug. 29, 1992, and resided in the Sandusky area until moving to South Carolina in 2006, where she often helped out in the office of their family owned business, Charleston Collision.
Kimmy or “Jack’s” greatest love was spending time with family and friends, and “fussing” (loving) over Kelly, her only child. Some of her fondest memories were the good times spent with friends on “A” Dock, family holidays on Pearl Street, camping and weekends on the land. She is greatly admired for her persevering character and forever loved for her selfless and compassionate heart.
Kim is survived by her husband, John P. Kane; daughter, Kelly J. McCormick; mother, Sharon L. Canterbury; stepfather, James L. Canterbury; three brothers, Thomas (Liz), Bradley (Sherry), and Jeffery (Bonnie) Pean; step brothers, James and Andrew Canterbury; many cousins, nieces and nephews; and special cousin and friend, Rene Swander and Tanya “Noel” Wechter.
Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at Milan Friends Church, in Milan. A small celebration of life and luncheon will follow the services at Milan Friends Church.
Kim’s guestbook may be signed at jamesamcalister.com. Arrangements are by James A. McAister Funerals & Cremation, Charleston, S.C.
