Oscar Mason, 90, of Pensacola, Fla., formerly of Sandusky, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, in Covenant Hospice, Pensacola.
He was born May 25, 1922, in Claiborne County, Tenn., to William Jackson and Rosa Mason. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II.
Oscar retired from Ford Motor Company, Sandusky, in 1982 after 30 years of service. Oscar was a member of the Bogart Road Church of God, Sandusky.
Surviving are his wife, of 66 years, Viola of Pensacola; his son, Gil (Diane) Mason of Pensacola; granddaughters, Sherri Mason-Buiel of Scottsdale, Ariz., Karen (Randy) Duskin of Sandusky, Deborah (Vern Long) Mason of Redondo Beach, Calif.; great-grandchildren, Krisstin (Gobi) Paramanandam of Scottsdale, Tyler Hammond of Atlanta, Ga., Kaitlyn Duskin, Ryan Duskin of Sandusky, and Max Long of Redondo Beach; brother, William Jackson; and sister, Hester, both of Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 22, at the Pensacola Memorial Garden Chapel. Burial will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola with full Military Honors.
