Henry E. Loroff, 93, of Castalia, died Thursday morning, Oct. 19, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, Main Campus, following a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Castalia, and graduated from Margaretta High School in 1937. He worked for Elmer Borchardt Inc. for 40 years, and retired in 1982. Henry served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post 83. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and loved to go bowling, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Marjorie (Eisenhauer) Loroff; two sisters-in-law, Marjorie Loroff and Margaret Loroff; and many nieces and nephews.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, August and Bertha (Vilwalk) Loroff; five brothers, Ernest, Kenneth, Emeral, Dallas and Fredrick Loroff; and four sisters, Hazel Downing, Matilda Fitz, Lil White and Mable Barth.
Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, and from 9 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, until services at 10 a.m. at Grace Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kathleen Suggitt will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
