Helen M. (Franks) Blainey, 88, residing in Sandusky, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in Firelands Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
Helen was born Oct. 4, 1924, in Cleveland, daughter of the late Gust and Mary (Goff) Franks.
Helen was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Sandusky. She was also an avid member of the Garden Club of Sandusky.
Helen is survived by her son, James (Susan) Blainey; two grandchildren, Krista (Gene) Stanford and Ryan (Amanda) Blainey; five great-grandchildren, Darren and Connor Stanford, and Kaleb, Ryan Jr., and Brenna Blainey; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Helen was preceded in death by husband, Clarence A. Blainey in 1988; her parents; and her brother, Harry Franks.
Private family services will take place at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory-Sandusky Chapel. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
