Alice I. Dreher, 91, of Bellevue, passed away Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, in The Willows at Bellevue.
She was born May 25, 1921, in Bellevue, to Harold and Aleta (Lynch) Royer. She married Robert H. Dreher on Feb. 22, 1946, at Fireside United Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on Dec. 31, 2010.
Alice was a graduate of Baldwin Wallace College and worked as an English teacher at Thompson High School.
She was a member of Zion United Church of Church, and served as organist for many years. She was a loving grandmother of three, and enjoyed traveling, and writing letters.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Michael J.) Carey of Pittsburgh, ; three grandchildren, Molly Suzanne Carey, M.D., of Ohio, “Maggie” Margaret Alice Carey, a special education teacher, of Virginia, and Patrick Robert Carey, a first year law student, of San Francisco.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, David A. Dreher, in 1997; and her parents,.
Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 22, at Zion United Church of Christ, 13525 E. Twp. Road 178, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Fireside Cemetery.
