Nancy Doris (Duggan) McGary, of Put-in-Bay, died Oct. 15, 2012, in Cleveland Clinic Hospital.
She was born March 24, 1936, on South Bass Island, and lived most of her life on Put-in-Bay. She was a data review tech for the Social Security Administration for 13 years. She also spent 11 years as an office clerk for Island Resorts on Put-in-Bay.
Nancy Duggan married Roy Davis McGary on Sept. 28, 1968, at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Put-in-Bay.
She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church, a graduate of Put-in-Bay High School, Class of 1954, and attended Davis Business College in Toledo.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Davis McGary, of Put-in-Bay; sisters-in-law, Sharon Duggan, of Put-in-Bay, Colleen (Cliff) Martinez, of Napoleon, Ohio, Claudia (Jim) Funkhouser, of Mesa, Ariz., and Catherine (Loren) Gentry, of Granger, Ind.; mother-in-law, Lucille McGary, of Liberty Center, Ohio; nieces, Dianne “Dee Dee” (Michael Steidl) Duggan, of Put-in-Bay, Mischa (Matt) Okuley, of Napoleon, and Leah (Kurt) Weber, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; nephews, Charles “Chip” Duggan, of Put-in-Bay, Miles (Janet) Martinez, of Fort Wayne, Ind., Chad Martinez, of Napoleon, Chris (Sandy) Funkhouser, of Gilbert, Ariz., Phillip (Keely) Funkhouser, of Marietta, Ga., and Lucas (Ruthanne) Gentry, of Niles, Mich.; and many great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle Charles “Cotton” and Doris (Falkner) Duggan; and two brothers, Bruce Duggan and Charles “Skip” Duggan.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Put-in-Bay. The Rev. Lucas Gentry, a nephew, will officiate. There will be no visitation.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
