Marcia A. Castello, 61, of Sandusky, passed away on Friday morning, Oct. 12, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born Sept. 19, 1951, in Bellaire, Ohio. Marcia was a 1969 graduate of Jefferson Union High School in Richmond, Ohio.
Marcia worked as a dental assistant, a price checker at the Finast Grocery Store, worked in the costume department at the Sandusky State Theatre, and was a homemaker for many years.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She loved gardening, taking rides to see the scenery, wine tasting, reading, music and the arts, and spending time with her family and friends.
Marcia is survived by her husband, John Castello, whom she married April 3, 1971; children, Matthew (Deann) Castello, of Lancaster, Ohio, and Andrew (Jeannine) Castello and Sarah (Terry) Pearston, of Sandusky; grandchildren, Savannah, Evan, Trevor, and Sam; father and step-mother, Willis and Charlotte (Smith) Evans; brothers and sisters, Ford Evans, Erin Leber, Linda Johansson, Georgia Kay Clark and Terry Smith; and numerous other family members.
She was preceded in death by her birth mother, Ernestine (Burnett) Evans.
Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
