Adele C. Ashe, 81, of Huron, departed this life for a life with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 27, 2009, after a lengthy illness. May God grant her eternal rest.
She was the first-born child to William and Adele Clark on Oct. 1, 1927, in East St. Louis, Ill. She graduated from St. Louis University with a Bachelor of Science degree in 1949. She later taught at St. Joseph's School in Maumee, Ohio, and then at St. Peter School in Huron. After retiring, she worked with Mount Insurance Company, Huron, as an agent for several years. Adele loved to read, cross stitch, and play golf.
She is survived by her daughter, Geri (James) Bork of Huron and her son, Edward J. (Catherine) Ashe of Collins; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary (Gene) Kasper; a brother, the Rev. William P. Clark; and three nieces.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, James, in 2002.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Foster Funeral Home, 410 Main St., Huron. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron. The Rev. William P. Clark will officiate. Burial will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
