Dorothy A. Smith, 73, of Norwalk, died early Thursday morning Feb. 26, 2009, in Stein Hospice Care Center Sandusky.
She was born June 26, 1935, in New Lexington, Ohio, daughter of the late Vincent W. and Lillian C. (Stein) Finnen. She lived most of her life inthe Norwalk area.
Dorothy was a member of St. Paul CatholicChurch. She was an employee of Freudenberg NOK in Milan, retiring in 1990. Dorothy was an avid sports fan especially enjoying theCleveland Indians, ClevelandCavaliers and Ohio State. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin J. and Devinna Smith of Owasso, Okla., Keith J. and Regina Smith of Columbus, and Ken G. andDeborah Smith of Norwalk; daughter and son-in-law, Kae A. and Kevin Hindle of Norwalk;grandchildren, Nacole and Tim Howell, Brooke and DavidCarpenter who are expectingDorothy's first great-granddaughter, Nathan and AngieHindle, Amanda Smith, Hannah Smith, Tyler Smith, Lakyn Smith and her fianc Mikal Resor,Brittany Smith and Alyssa Smith; great-grandchildren, Trevor, Zachary, Bradyen, Javan, Jayme and Hayden; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Beverly Finnen of Norwalk; and sister-in-law,Rosemary Finnen of Milan.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Francis Smith in 1991; and brothers, James and Michael "Mick" Finnen.
Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday in Walker Funeral Home,98 W. Main St., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Anthony Catholic Church, 145 S. Center St., Milan; the Revs. Francis Speier and Anthony Borgia will officiate. Burial will be in St. Anthony Cemetery, Milan.
