Roland K. Grahl, 83, ofWyandotte, Mich., died Feb. 16, 2009, at his home.
He was bornMay 30, 1925, in Venice, Ohio. He was a graduate of Margaretta High School, class of1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a graduate of the Culinary Institute of Connecticut and was a chef for many years in the Detroit area.
He is survived by his sister,Carolyn (Hank) Landoll ofNorwalk, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna (Klafter) Grahl; two brothers, Richard and Thomas; and fivesisters, Doris Grahl, Janice O'Reilly, Elaine McClellan, Helen Detrick and Florence Grahl in infancy.
At his request, cremation took place immediately after death and a graveside service will be in April.
