Charles Warren Donner

Charles Warren Donner, 80, residing in Huron, passed away early Tuesday morning, Nov. 2, 2012, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Charles was born Sept. 24, 1932, in Chicago, son of the late Norval and Carrie (Fritz) Donner.
Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was employed at Sandusky Dressed Beef Company, and retired after 35 years of dedicated service.
He was a charter member The Chapel in Sandusky and was quite involved for many years. He was a member and past exulted ruler of Port Clinton BPOE Elks Club 1718. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed watching the Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians, his fantasy football and golf teams and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Charles is survived by his daughter, Julie Beth Anderson; son, Scott C. Donner; two granddaughters, Lindsay Laura Wojtala and Chelsea Anderson; grandson, Zachary John Wojtala; and his family and friends from The Chapel.
Charles was preceded in death by wife, Marlene S. Parry in 2011; and his parents.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at Groff Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1607 E Perkins Ave., Sandusky. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.  Friday, Oct. 5, at The Chapel, 4444 Galloway Road, Sandusky. The Rev. William Schroeder will officiate. Burial will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
