Anthony Pepitone, 81, was born Dec. 26, 1930, in Sandusky, to Charles and Anna Pepitone. He passed away Sept. 23, 2012 in San Diego.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Mr. Pepitone worked in the food service industry as a chef and director of food services at Fredericka Manor for 23 years in Chula Vista. He retired in 1982. He was an avid fisherman, and loved playing golf and poker.
Mr. Pepitone was preceded in death by his wife, Clara (Warrer) Pepitone; brothers, August, James, Ignatius “Yance”, Joseph and William; and sisters, Katherine (Pepitone) Garlock, and Mary (Pepitone) Ritter.
He is survived by a son, Charles Pepitone, of Louisville, Texas; daughters, Kathy Rhodes, of Chula Vista and Karen Hamilton, of Gulf Breeze, Fla.; three grandsons; and three great-granddaughters.
Services will take place for immediate family members only; Deacon Rick Stark will officiate. Burial will be cremation and ashes spread at sea off Point Loma, Calif.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
