Steven “Buck” L. Beckman, 58, of Buckland Avenue, Fremont, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012, in Toledo Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1954, in Fremont, to Harold Beckman and Dorothy (Prior) Beckman-Buehler. He was a 1972 graduate of Fremont Ross High School.
Buck married Mary L. Hammer on April 5, 1990, at the Dillon House in Fremont and she survives. He was a production coordinator at U.S. Tsubaki for more than 30 years and retired in 2010.
Buck was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He was also a member of Fremont Moose, Eagles and American Legion and International Associations of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, Local 1711, Sandusky. He enjoyed music, playing his guitar, golf, pool league and karaoke and was a Detroit sports fan. Buck loved spending time with his friends and family.
Buck is survived by his wife, Mary Beckman, of Fremont; sons, Jeremy, Matt and Zach Beckman, all of Fremont; siblings, Carol (Ray) Hutchison, of St. Claire Shores, Mich., and Janice (Dave) Longanbach, of Fremont; grandchildren, Isabelle and Lilly Beckman; and mother-in-law, Evelyn “Evie” Miller and sister-in-law, Karen Hammer, of Fremont.
He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua Beckman; parents; and stepfather, Wayne Buehler.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, where services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2. Pastor Jody Rice will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Fremont
