Joseph P. Chubak, 80, of Huron, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 25, 2012, in Admiral’s Pointe in Huron.
He was born March 15, 1932, in Huron, and was a 1950 graduate of Huron High School. He was a 31-year employee of the Sandusky Ford Plant and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church of Huron, the Erie County Conservation League and Huron Eagles.
Joe is survived by his wife, the former Lynn Leverenz, whom he married July 14, 1997; two daughters, Kimberly (Robert) Bowers of Huron and Ann (Chuck Siegel) Chubak of Huron; two grandchildren, Robert Joseph and Bradley Stephen Bowers; his stepdaughter, Kristin Gardiner-Bell and stepson, Rob Gardiner of South Carolina; stepgranddaughter, Andrea Bowers of Los Angeles; sister, Margie (John) Bowers, brother, James (Francine) Chubak; and uncle, Paul (Ellen) Wargo, all of Huron; aunt, Julia Rudisill, of Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Koelsch, in 1995; his parents, Joseph E. and Elizabeth (Wargo) Chubak; and a sister, Joanne Saunders.
Cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, at Foster Funeral Home and Crematory, 410 Main St., Huron. A memorial mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 29, at St. Peter Catholic Church, 430 Main St., Huron. The Rev. Jeff Sikorski will officiate.
