Donna M. Langenfelder, 72, of Sandusky, passed away late Thursday evening, Sept. 20, 2012, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Oct. 17, 1939, in Castalia, the daughter of Walter and Mildred (Rosin) LaCourse.
Donna retired from the Sandusky City Schools, where she was fondly known as Mrs. “L” and worked as a teacher’s aide for nearly 20 years. She also had been the cook at the Sandusky Elks Lodge for 25 years.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Donna was known as an incredible cook and baker. She had a big heart and loved to help others.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert J. Langenfelder; three daughters, Debbie (Richard) Niehm, Connie (Richard) Stark, Christine (Sam) Schmenk; two sons, Duane L. Langenfelder and Robert F. (Laura)Langenfelder, all of Sandusky; nine grandchildren, Alexis, Richard, Elizabeth, Erica, Emily, Kevin, Brittany, Joshua, Celestine and one on the way; sister, Shirley (Ken) Pearson of Las Vegas; brother, Robert (Pat) LaCourse of Sandusky; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held 3-7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at David F. Koch Funeral Home, 520 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. Prayers will be recited 9:40 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. Jason Kahle will officiate. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
