Ronald N. Carlson, 72, of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, in The Bellevue Hospital.
He was born Nov. 22, 1936, in Conneaut, Ohio, the son of the late Neil and Kathryn (Hawkins) Carlson.
Ron retired in 1998 from N & W and N.K.P. railroad where he was a clerk. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church. He was a member of AA. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren's sporting events and traveling.
Survivors include his son, Neil (Lisa) Carlson of Clyde; daughter, Cathy (Tom) Dearth of Bellevue; special friend, JoannBlankenship of Bellevue; stepson, James Trizna of Bellevue; stepdaughter, Sue (Dave) Lafollette of Bellevue; grandchildren, Chad, Dustin and Cody Dearth, Alaina, Amaya and Alexa Carlson, Jason Lafollette, Jodi Taylor and Ralph Trizna; and great-grandson, Logan Trizna.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Dorothy (Sanford) Carlson, whom he married Jan. 27, 1959, in New York, and his sister, Susan Simpson, preceded him in death.
Friends will be received2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Foos and Foos Funeral Service,151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Karen Kaye. Burial will be in Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
