Helen M. Bodi, 92, residing in Sandusky, passed away late Wednesday evening, Sept. 19, 2012, in Parkvue Health Care Center after a lengthy illness.
Helen was born Sept. 25, 1919, in Sandusky, daughter of the late Edward and Edith (Sengstock) Rosin. Helen retired from Castalia Mill Site in 1987 after many years of dedicated service.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Sandusky. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, and watching the birds in her yard.
Helen is survived by four daughters, Edith C. Bodi, of Sandusky, Judy (Sam) Welser, of Castalia, June (Ralph) Sondergeld, of Sandusky, and Sandy Bodi and fiancé Robert Hultz, of Sandusky; two sons, Joseph E. (Martella) Bodi, of Bay View, and David (Kathy) Bodi, of Sandusky; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, in 1979; her son, Daniel Keith Bodi, in infancy; her parents; three brothers, Wilbert (Babe) Rosin, Rolland Rosin and Edward Rosin; one sister, Mildred LaCourse; one grandson, Bradley G. Homegardner; and one daughter-in-law, Suzette M. Bodi.
Friends may call 3-7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky, and from 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 24, until services at 10 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. John B. Mawhirter will officiate. Burial will take place in Castalia Cemetery.
