June E. (Ferguson) Graves, 69, Sandusky, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, after a brief illness.

She was born Aug. 22, 1939, in Sandusky, to William and Anne (Sallee) Ferguson Sr.She graduated from Sandusky High School and Providence School of Nursing.

June retired from the former Providence Hospital after 28 years of service and six years of serviceat the Ohio Veterans Home. Shewill be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and devoted nurse.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted longtime companion of 36 years, Willie C. Jones; daughters, Deborah Graves, Donna (Dennis) Palmer, Crystal (Zachery) Randleman, Marian (Spencer) Hill and Dionne (Sean) Amison, all of Sandusky; sons, Michael (Millie) Graves,Loganville, Ga., Larry Graves,Lansing, Mich., and Donald(Charmaine) Graves, Stockbridge, Ga.; mother, Anne Ferguson; sister, Constance Johnson and brother, William Ferguson Jr., both ofSandusky; stepmother, RoseFerguson, Shaker Heights, Ohio; son-in-law, Wayne Cunningham, Sandusky; stepdaughter, Lisa (Terry) Edmon, Sandusky; stepsons, Waive Jones, Hampton, Va., Thirkell (Karen) Jones, Sandusky, Charles (Tamala) Jones, Ypsilanti, Mich., and Theotis (Kerry) Jones, Canton, Mich.;37 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; stepsister, Jerlyn McDowell, Elyria; stepbrothers, Burrel Gipson, Cleveland, and Stephen Ferguson, Akron; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and lifetime friends, Diane Graves, Linda Thomas, Jackie Reed and Sharon Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald P. Graves Sr.; daughters, June Cunningham, and a daughter in infancy; father,William Ferguson Sr.; brother, John Ferguson; and grandparents.

Friends may call from 11 a.m., Saturday, until funeral services at 1 p.m. in Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1215 Pierce St., Sandusky. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
