Eunice J. (Johnston) Rowe, 85, Sandusky, passed away Friday, Jan. 2, 2009, at her residencefollowing a lengthy illness.
She was born January 23, 1923, in Cleveland. Eunice was a 1941 graduate of Shaker Heights High School and a 1944 graduate of Bethany College in West Virginia. She was employed with NASA for six years as an aeronautical research scientist and also worked at Cedar Point for 13 years in the marketing and finance departments. Eunice was a member of Phi Mu Sorority and a former member of Plymouth Church in Shaker Heights, Ohio. She enjoyed antiques and playing bridge.
Mrs. Rowe is survived by her husband, William Rowe, to whom she was married for 59 years; six daughters, Deborah Rowe,Naperville, Ill., Eileen Rowe,Springfield, Vt., Catherine Clark, Akron, Ohio, Nancy Aube,Edgerton, Ohio, Martha Woodsford,Mt. Buller, Australia, and MaureenRowe, Thomasville, Ga.; three sons, Paul Rowe, Eugene, Ore., James Rowe, Savannah, Ga., and Bruce Rowe, Chaing Mai,Thailand; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Charles Johnston, Wadsworth, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles F. and Clara (Mau) Johnston.
There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home. The family will receive relatives and friends 1-5 p.m. Saturday at their residence in Sandusky to share memories. Arrangements handled by Groff Funeral Homes,Sandusky.
