Donald D. "Don" Walters, 73, of Sandusky, passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 5, 2009, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born in Sandusky, Nov. 14,1935. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict. Don worked as a truck driver for nearly 50 years, working for a variety of local companies. He loved boating, fishing and hunting, but most of all, he was an avid wheeler and dealer at flea markets and yard sales throughout the local area. He was a member of American Legion Post 83.
He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Sandra S. "Sandy" (Smith) Walters; family, Annette (John) Veverka, LeeAnne (Don) Peace, Michael Walters, Melissa (Robert) Pietschman, Lori Francis, Donielle (Steve) Yates and Daniel Walters; stepchildren, Jackie (Rick) Kindredand Joshua Jacoby; 19 grand-children; one stepgrandchild; nine great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Marshall, MarvelDennison and Darlene Lynch; brother, John Walters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Joseph and Delores Pearl (Winters) Jamison; and brother, Harold "Rusty" Walters.
At his request, there will be no visitation. Cremation will take place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
