Ruby A. (Taylor) Griggs, 85, Vermilion, died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, in Kingston of Vermilion after a lengthy illness.
She was born Nov. 29, 1923, in Ceylon Junction, Ohio, and was a lifelong Vermilion resident, spending a brief time in Huron and Berlin Heights.
She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, Elyria. She enjoyed camping, fishing, crocheting and especially enjoyed organizing family gatherings.
She is survived by her husbandof 66 years, William Griggs; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlene and Mark Green ofVermilion and Donna and Bill Chester of Pueblo West, Colo.; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Judy Griggs of Fremont and Robert and Robyn Griggs of Elyria; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; brother, Walter Taylor ofTallahassee, Fla.; and sister, Alberta Mussell of Lorain.
Preceding her in death were her son, William Walter Griggs in 1978; parents, Garry Earl and Edith (Lee) Taylor; sister, Valencia Gamez; and brother, Albert Taylor.
Friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday in Riddle Funeral Home, 5345 South St., Vermilion. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Myrtle Eppler officiating. Interment will follow in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron.
