Norman G. Barber, age 60, of Norwalk, went to be with His Lord and Savior Sunday, Sept. 16, 2012, in Fisher-Titus Medical Center after an extended illness.
He was born Sept. 19, 1951, in Norwalk, and was a 1969 graduate of Edison High School. He attended Miami University and worked at Barr Rubber in Sandusky, Clevite in Milan for 18 years, and later Exxon Mobile in Akron as a lab technician for over 11 years.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his granddaughter, Mylea. In his earlier years he enjoyed racing at Sandusky Speedway, loved spending time outdoors, particularly on vacation at the ocean with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Mary Lynn Barber of Norwalk; daughter, Holly L. Barber of Perrysburg, Ohio; son, Norman E. Barber of Norwalk; granddaughter, Mylea R. Barber of Norwalk; nieces, Colleen and Tina; and nephews, Joshua and Steven; brothers, Ronald Barber of Vermilion, and Keith Barber of Clyde.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Barber in 1999 and Mary L. (Sprowl) Barber in 2010.
Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Evans Funeral Home, 314 E. Main St., Norwalk. A private service will be held with Pastor John Adams officiating and burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.
