Clinton W. Longnecker, 79, of Sandusky, died Wednesday morning, Dec. 24, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center, South Campus, Sandusky.
He was born April 19, 1929, in Castalia, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 2529, Sandusky. He was a 30-year employee of Farrell-Cheek Steel Co., and previously was employed by Medusa Cement Co.
He is survived by three daughters, Judy (Charles) Zimmerman of Cincinnati, Debora (Carlton) Seville of Sandusky, and Lori (Donald) Sprouse of Sandusky; three sons, Terry Longnecker of Sandusky, Timothy (Pat) Longnecker of Vickery, and Jay (Jackie) Longnecker of Sandusky; eight grandchildren, Christopher W., Penny, Christopher M., Colleen, Heather, Nickolas, Charity and Sarah; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Clinton was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine in 1997; his parents, Henry and Flossie (Raymond) Longnecker; four brothers, Harold, Howard, Robert and Gene Longnecker; and one sister, Mabel Longnecker.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today in Ransom Funeral Home, 610 S. Washington St., Castalia, where funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Gary Ulrich officiating. Burial will be in Castalia Cemetery.
