Alice P. Sommers, 65, of Norwalk, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky.
She was born May 17, 1943, in Summerhill, Pa., and lived most of her life in the Norwalk area. Alice was a 1961 graduate of Western Reserve High School where she was the 1960 homecoming queen. She was a farm wife and was a sewer at Norwalk Furniture Company. Alice enjoyed archeology, hunting Indiana artifacts, hiking, collecting antiques, flowers and flowergardening, nature, spending time outdoors, and her pet dogs.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca L. and Scott Beck of Norwalk; her son and daughter-in-law, Robert S. and Carolyn Sommers of Norwalk; seven grandchildren; her mother, Mary Frances Phillips of Norwalk; brother, James F. Oswalt of Collins; and by her sister and brother-in-law, Catherine M. and Rick Hinds of Castalia.
She was preceded in death by her father, Olen J. Oswalt; and her stepfather, Sheldon J. Phillips.
