Virginia M. Mahl, 89, formerly of Milan, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, in Magnolia Place Adult Living in Waverly, Tenn.
Virginia was born May 3, 1923, in Peru, Ohio, daughter of the late Philip and Agnes Pfleiger.
She was the kitchen manager of Homestead Inn until 1976, before working at the Pewter Mug until her retirement in 1979.
Virginia loved gardening and spending time with her family and friends.
Virginia is survived by her three daughters, Dorothy (Thomas) Buttrey, of Nashville, Tenn., Annette (Roger) Miller, of Michigan City, Ind., and Barbara (Joel) Pickering, of New London; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; two brothers and two sisters, Francis (Ann) Pflieger, of Republic, Mathias (Kay) Pflieger, of Denver, Alberta (Alva) Guynn, of Sandusky, and Rita (William) Schild, of Monroeville; and many nieces and nephews.
Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Mahl, and her parents.
Friends may call beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, at Groff Funeral Homes and Crematory Milan Chapel, 1 S. Main St. Milan, until a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 145 S Center St., Milan.
