Johnnie Lee Mahr, 69, residing in Sandusky, passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 11, 2012, at his residence.
He was born May 24, 1943, in Akron, Ohio, son of the late Frank Mahr and Arnena (Cox) Mahr Sebastiano. Johnnie was employed by New Departure Hyatt retiring Aug. 1, 2001.
In John’s spare time he enjoyed boating, playing with his dogs, and spending time with family and friends.
Johnnie is survived by his two daughters, Kimberly (James) Allbury, of Homosassa, Fla., and Deborah (Jeff) Pace, of Orlando, Fla.; nine grandchildren, Mackenzie, Lexi and Leighlynn Pace, Matthew (Carly) Mahr, Mark Sallee, Melanie (Chris) Halle, Tiffanie Overman, James (Audrey) Albury III, and Amber (Jovita) Holliday; 11 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Frank (Susie) Mahr, Ed (Ceil) Mahr, Kevin (Pat) Sebastiano and Clifford (Jackie) Sebastiano; and several loving nieces and nephews.
Including his parents, Johnnie was preceded in death by his stepfather, Clifford Sebastiano; grandson, PFC Michael C. Mahr, KIA Afghanistan 2011; and two siblings, Arnena Hamilton, and Cathy Gresh.
A memorial service in Johnnie’s memory will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, at Groff Funeral Home and Crematory, 1607 E. Perkins Ave., Sandusky. The Rev. David Detwiler, a chaplain at Stein Hospice Services, will officiate.
