Julius Megyesi, 90, of Huron, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center, Sandusky, after a brief illness.
He was born April 29, 1918, in Huron and was a lifelong resident. He attended Huron schools and was a U.S. Army veteran and served during World War II. He entered the Army in 1941, and served with the 975th Field Artillery Battalion. He was discharged in 1943.
He was a life member of American Legion Post 83, Sandusky. He worked at Erie -Ordnance and Kurko Plastics, in Huron.
He enjoyed bike riding, his dog, "Junior," and going to garage sales and Berardi's Restaurant,regularly.
He is survived by his brother, John (Catherine) Megyesi; niece, Lidia (Timothy) Preston; and great-nephew, Jerry Scofield Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Lidia (Miscoltz) Megyesi; brothers, Steve and William; and nephew, Steve Megyesi.
At the request of the deceased, a private graveside service will be in Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, with Tom Holzaepfel, pastor of Lighthouse Assembly of God Church in Huron, officiating.
