Jack H. Fischer, 83, of Sandusky, died early Friday morning, Dec. 5, 2008, in Firelands Regional Medical Center - Main Campus following a brief illness.
He was born Oct. 27, 1925, in Sandusky, son of the late Herbert and Sallie (Keegan) Fischer.
He was a 1943 Sandusky High School graduate and a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II. Jack retired from Ford Motor Co. in 1989 following 22 years as a tool and dye maker.
Jack was a member of American Legion post 83, life member of VFW post 2529, and a 60-year member of Science Lodge 50.
He will be sadly missed by his wife of 61 years, Ann C. (Cooper) Fischer; daughter, Pamela and Brian Crosby of Milan; son, Michael Fischer of Huron; three grandchildren, Shayne Fischer of Huron, Brian Crosby of Milan and Jason Crosby of Huron; and four great-grandsons, Jack, Scot, Tait and Cameron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Sharon (Bollenbacher) Fischer; and sister, Gloria Metz.
Jack requested there be no visitation. Private family services will be conducted at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron. Arrangements have been entrusted to Groff Funeral Home, Sandusky.
