Samual Allen McCarty, 57, of Jacksonville, Fla., and formerly of Sandusky, was killed Nov. 30, 2008, in a house fire at his home in Jacksonville, where he lived the past three years.
He was a graduate of Sandusky High School and attended New Jerusalem Baptist Church in Sandusky, and still attended church in Jacksonville.
He is survived by his father, Willie B. McCarty of Sandusky; his mother, Elosie Russell-McCarty of Jacksonville; sisters, Kimberly McCarty of Sweet Water, Ala., Audrey McCarty and Carla McCarty of Sandusky and Patrice Simms of Jacksonville; brothers, Jimmy, Willie , Wayne and Neil McCarty, all of Sandusky, Larry McCarty of Jacksonville, and Timothy, Norbert, Richard and Zachery Simms, all of Jacksonville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Lawrence McCarty.
A memorial service will be Saturday in Jacksonville.
