Sue Ann (Lee) Johnson, 61 of Huron, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2008, in Stein Hospice Care Center after a hard fought battle with cancer.
She was born March 4, 1947, in Clyde, to Francis “Scotty” and Betty (Shockey) Lee. She graduated from Clyde High School in 1965 and Tiffin Hair Academy. She was a licensed cosmologist, having worked in various salons in the area. Sue retired from EHOVE after teaching cosmetology for 25 years and was also a supervisor there. She recently worked for Holty Reality and Goodwill, where she coordinated “The Dress for Success” program.
She loved animals and was active in the Erie County Humane Society. Sue was also a master gardener and enjoyed working in the garden and was interested in home decorating.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Jane (John) Dawes, and brother, Robert (Gail) Lee, both of Clyde; three nieces, Sherrie (Jeff) Minier, Traci (Dennis) Burkhart and Nicole Masella; two nephews, Timothy Honaker and Robert Scott Lee II (Marty); 12 great-nieces and nephews; her life long friend, Carol (Matthews) Ray; and her beloved feline companions, Elton, Fu, Sunshine and Tinkerbelle.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents, Robert and Elise Shockey and Scott and Ida Lee.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Dec. 2, at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde. Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde, is handling arrangements.
